A US religious group has burned Harry Potter books, claiming they promote sorcery and witchcraft.
Members of the Harvest Assembly of God church in Pittsburgh also burned Pearl Jam and Black Sabbath CDs and videos.
The group's bonfire of "paranormal" items also included the Disney videos Hercules and Pinocchio.
Reverend George Bender told the ABC News website: "We believe that Harry Potter promotes sorcery, witchcraft-type things, the paranormal, things that are against God. That is really bad."
A spokesperson for Harry Potter publishers Scholastic says: "I think burning books is shameful. The message is very clear by inference. I think he's saying something very strong."
