Tokyo's Setagaya Ward registers AUM members

TOKYO — Tokyo's Setagaya Ward completed resident registration Monday involving 55 AUM Shinrikyo cult members, including its chief Fumihiro Joyu, ward officials said.

The move came after the ward and the AUM members reached an out-of-court settlement in June. Under it, the ward agreed to reverse its earlier decision to refuse to accept their applications for residency registration and also to pay a total 13.4 million yen.
