Wiccan promises to help

MADISON (AP) -- The first Wiccan minister to serve as a prison chaplain in Wisconsin says her job is to work with prisoners and volunteer pastors of all faiths, not to try to convert people to witchcraft.

"The minute I walk through these walls I'm an interfaith minister, not a Wiccan," said the Rev. Jamyi Witch, who was born in Louisiana as Jamyi Welch but changed her name years ago.

"I minister to everyone's needs. I have no interest in converting anyone. That would be wrong," she said Thursday.
