Sharia: No Part of Kano is Exempted --Kabo

The chairman of Kano state Sharia commission, Shiek Ibrahim Umar Kabo has threatened that the commission will not exempt any part of the state as free zone in the implementation of the Islamic Law, saying any one who is not willing to adhere can leave the state.

Sheik Kabo told Sharia Enforcement enforcers popularly known as (HISBA) that the commission would not condole sales and consumption of alcohol, gambling, homosexuality, lesbianism and prostitution in the state.

He pointed out that the past administration failed in the implementation of the Sharia in the state because some parts of the state were tagged free zones, and that his commission will not recognized any such places in as much as they are within Kano state Sharia law must be respected by all.

The Sharia commission chairman stressed that they are not going to use force on anybody to stop the sales of alcohol or practice of prostitution in the state, and added that they are warning those involve to stop or leave the state because they may be forced to stop them by force in due course.

His words "I have told Hoteliers in the state at a forum that the commission will not tolerate the sales of alcohol, gambling and prostitution in the state, and even advised those who are not will to adhere to our demand to leave the state if they want. We told them the owners of the land want total enforcement of the Islamic law implemented in all parts of the state".

Sheik Kabo further disclosed that the commission has already developed a three years working programmes they hope to implement on Sharia in the state, stating that there is no way any part of the state can be said to be exempted in the execution of the proposed plans.

The Islamic cleric who declared that the state government does not need any revenue generated from the sales of alcohol and the prostitution said they don't even want any VAT from the sales of alcohol in any parts of the state.

On activities of homosexuals and lesbians in the state, sheik Kabo expressed disgust over the development saying that as Sharia condemns it, the commission is working out modalities to wage war against the perpetrators of the ungodly acts in the state.

He then hinted that as part from measures to ensure that the Islamic law is fully implement in the state,they will soon visit all the markets in the state to compel the traders to use proper measurement scale in the sales of grains in the market.
