The British Army will employ a Muslim man of religion for the first time in its history. The British newspaper, The Sunday Times, wrote a story based on an Internal Ministry source that said the new Muslim man of religion would be employed to encourage the more than 300 soldiers working in the British land, air and naval forces, to serve for the UK, despite the clashes in Muslim countries.
Even though there are places for Muslim soldiers to pray in the British Army, even though they are given religiously considered foods, even though they are allowed to grow a beard and fast during the holy month of Ramadan, only men of the Christian faith have served in the British Army. The American Army, unlike the British Army, already employs Jewish and Muslim men of religion.
