A 70-year-old woman of Zambezi was beaten to death by eight people who suspected her of being a witch.
North-Western Province police chief Innocent Kalebwe confirmed the incident which happened last Saturday.
Mr Kalebwe said the woman, Musangu Katete of Ipumpa village in Chief Mpidi's area, was beaten to death by the eight people around 10:00hours.
Mr Kalebwe said a woman was among the eight people that attacked Katete.
He said that her body was lying in Mpidi Rural Health Centre mortuary and police were investigating the matter.
Mr Kalebwe further said a one-year-old baby boy drowned in a two meter deep hole.
He said the baby identified as Danvan Milimo left home and covered a distance of 50 meters where he slipped into the hole and drowned around 12:00 hours on Monday.
Mr Kalebwe said the body had since been retrieved and police were treating the case as sudden death.
In Kitwe, a 34-year-old man was stabbed to death by unknown people in Mulenga township.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muntemba said the incident happened around 19:00 hours on Monday.
