The Russian Orthodox Church welcomes the Internet, the secretary of the Moscow Spiritual Academy’s learned board, Pavel Velikanov, said.
He told a news conference on Thursday that the “Church is positive about the Internet and uses its possibilities for spreading Russian culture”. The priest said “two years after the appearance of the Runet, the Moscow patriarchy opened in it its site and now actively uses it for public relations”.
The Russian segment of the Internet has more than 2,000 Internet resources with the religious content.
