LDSPromise.com(SM), a new online relationship service designed for single members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, today announced it has started its modern matchmaking process after receiving an overwhelming amount of completed SureMatch Compatibility(SM) tests from interested singles.
Since LDSPromise(SM) launched its site on Oct. 1, 2004, thousands of interested Latter-day Saint singles have taken the SureMatch Compatibility test, a 500-plus questionnaire and extensive profiling tool. Completed tests are then used to create a tailored Personality Profile for each participant.
"Because of the tremendous response from Latter-day Saint singles across the nation, and even around the globe, we now have an ample supply of Personality Profiles to begin the matching process," said A. Lynn Scoresby, Ph.D., creator and developer of LDSPromise.com and clinical psychologist with 35 years experience in counseling couples, individuals, parents and families. "I'm confident there will be a large number of successful matches made."
The extensively researched compatibility-matching algorithms, or high-tech matchmaking metrics, are used to interpret results of the SureMatch Compatibility test. The algorithms align subscribing participants with other singles who have similar personality types, wants and expectations in a future spouse.
The SureMatch Compatibility test evaluates participants on scales such as gender confidence, communication effectiveness and emotional competence. Questions are also built into the questionnaire that help identify if a person completing the test is answering dishonestly or has unhealthy psychological conditions.
"The SureMatch Compatibility test can detect if a participant is trying to deceive or fool the test, or if a participant has an elevated risk for unhealthy psychological conditions," Scoresby said. "Though it's impractical to guarantee the test is 100 percent foolproof, it is designed to ensure an extra level of protection for participating Latter-day Saint singles. We created this system for sincere single members of the LDS Church who are searching for compatible dating and marriage partners. LDSPromise intends to bring confidence to these sincere singles in knowing that other participants are who they say they are, that they will be safe, and that they will be matched correctly."
In an attempt to create a safer online relationship-building environment, executives at LDSPromise estimate that between 10 and 15 percent of interested singles will not be allowed matches or permitted into the LDSPromise.com system based on their SureMatch Compatibility test results.
Once a match is made, participants can select to follow one of two relationship-forming paths, each of which has multiple stages designed to cautiously guide singles through the process of getting to know each other. LDSPromise also offers 12 e-learning programs, tailored to a single's individual needs, to strengthen their weaknesses or possible blind spots in dating/relationships.
Latter-day Saint singles interested in being matched with a potential partner by LDSPromise can do so for a monthly online subscription price of $24.95. Singles can take the SureMatch Compatibility test and receive a personality profile for free -- a $40 value.
