The Padhola Cultural Union has reaffirmed its support to the cultural leader of the Jopadhola, Moses Stephen Owor.
In a statement issued by the union on Tuesday, members refuted recent reports that Owor was illegally occupying the cultrual leader's throne.
"We ardently re-affirm that his highness the Adhola, Moses Stephen Owor, has never rigged the elections that propelled him to the highest cultural office of Padhola," they said.
Recent press reports indicated that some Japadhola were opposed to Owor as their cultural leader saying he was illegally elected.
One tribal sect said they were making final arrangements for the installation of Majanga Junior as the genuine king of the Japadhola.
But the Padhola group said, "He was democratically and unanimously elected on personal merit, the charisma of envisioned leadership to inspire the Jopadhola to unity, hard work and sense of responsibility."
The decision was reached at a recent meeting of the union trustees who also signed the statement.
