Trial set in case of shunned FLDS church member's eviction

A trial date in the eviction case of an excommunicated member of a polygamous church was set for March 2.

A trust controlled by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has asked that Ross Chatwin be evicted from his Colorado City home. The church controls much of the property in the neighboring communities of Colorado City and Hildale, Utah.

The eviction trial will be a bench trial before Mohave County, Ariz., Superior Court Judge James Chavez.

Chavez previously ruled in another case that the trust couldn't evict former church members without compensating them for the value of their home and other improvements.
