A PREACHER cast two women out of his church after they turned up wearing “demonic” denim, it is claimed.
Reverend Clarence June Love was just about to begin his Sunday service when sisters Reba Storey, 46, and Mary Steele, 64, walked into the Assemblies of Jesus Church in Tennessee, USA.
The 83-year-old noticed that the pair were wearing blue jeans – apparently forbidden for women in some Pentecostal churches – and reportedly came down from his pulpit to confront them.
Rev Love told Mrs Storey, according to the Bristol Herald Courier: “You’re not wearing pants in my church, you demon.”
She replied: “I’m glad I serve a God who can work through my pants.”
Rev Love is then said to have grabbed hold of Mrs Storey and hustled her to the door, saying: “I got all the demons out of my church, and I want you out.”
Mrs Storey allegedly replied: “I don’t believe you’ve got all the demons out yet,” as she was escorted from the house of God.
Rev Love called the police but the two sisters then filed charges against him.
All three are now said to face assault charges.
