Judge sets trial dates in polygamist leader's case

San Angelo, USA - A West Texas judge has scheduled a pair of trials in San Angelo in the sexual assault and felony bigamy cases against polygamist leader Warren Jeffs.

The San Angelo Standard-Times reports state District Judge Barbara Walther set trial dates of July 25 for the count of sexual assault of a child and Oct. 3 for the felony bigamy case against the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Prosecutors say the 55-year-old head of the polygamist sect had sex with two children, one under age 14 and the other under age 17. He'd be the eighth of 12 men to be prosecuted in the wake of the April 2008 raid on the sect's West Texas ranch.
