Lonodn, UK - A controversial Hindu holy man facing charges of obscenity in India has been freed on bail after spending nearly two months in prison.
Nithyananda Swami was arrested in April after a video apparently showed him engaging in sexual acts with two women.
He says he is innocent and the video is a fake.
The video shocked devotees and angered locals - his ashram near the southern city of Bangalore was vandalised after TV channels broadcast the footage.
On Monday, the high court in the southern state of Karnataka granted the guru bail on condition he refrain from speaking in public.
Nithyananda Swami has a huge following in southern India and his mission has branches in several countries, including the US and Europe.
The guru's followers allege the video was created and distributed by a jealous resident of the ashram in a bid to defame him.
