Vandals deface synagogue, slash vehicle tires

Roanoke, USA - Vandals in Roanoke have spray-painted graffiti on a synagogue and several businesses and slashed tires on vehicles.

Roanoke police said vandals cut tires on 45 vehicles Sunday night or early Monday and left anti-Semitic graffiti on the front doors of Beth Israel Synagogue in the Old Southwest neighborhood.

Police say racial slurs also were painted on three businesses.

No arrests have been made.

Police say the building incidents appear to be related, but have not said whether they are connected to the tire slashings.
