Adelaide, Australia - Police say they cannot find who was responsible for compiling fake documents used by the South Australian Opposition in Parliament.
The affair involved fake emails, used by Martin Hamilton-Smith in Parliament, to try to show that an agency of the Church of Scientology had made donations to the Labor Party.
It effectively ended Mr Hamilton-Smith's leadership of the Liberals.
Mr Hamilton-Smith publicly apologised and handed the emails over to police
But police now say it is unlikely any crime was committed and they still do not know the source.
Mr Hamilton-Smith is facing legal action from some Labor figures, including Correctional Services Minister Tom Koutsantonis.
