Nigeria: Reps Order Jang to Stay Action On Fulani Ejection

Abuja, Nigeria — House of Representatives on Thursday, directed the Plateau State Government to stop forceful ejection of the Fulani from Wase Local Government Area of the state.

Members at plenary also unanimously agreed that the House Committee on Special Duties should investigate the allegation of forceful ejection of the Fulani in the local government to other parts of the country and report back within one week.

This followed a motion sponsored by Idris Ahmed, informing members that the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Governor Jonah Jang on Monday, April 27, began the process of forceful ejection of thousands of Fulani resident in Wase Local Government Area to other parts of the country.

The sponsor of the motion who was supported by over 100 members had noted the forceful ejection of thousands of the Fulani from Bashar Chiefdom of Wase Local Government Area of the state which, according to him, contravened their fundamental human rights.
