Somalia: Second Islamic Courts Union Official Killed in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, Somalia - Mogadishu — Second Islamic Courts Union Official was killed in Mogadishu by Unknown gunmen, officials told Shabelle Media on Tuesday.

The spokesman of the Islamic Courts Union Sheik Abdirahim Isse Adow said Mohamed Mohamud Jimale known as Agaweyne was killed by three gunmen armed with pistols in K4 area in Mogadishu.

Agaweyene was one of the senior Islamic Courts Union and held many posts in the UIC administration before they were routed by the Ethiopian troops. He was among the Islamist officials that decided to work with government led by president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed.

A Somali lawmaker and Islamist commander were killed in Mogadishu last Wednesday and Thursday.

The Islamic Courts Union accused their killing of al-Shabab, but the Shabab denied the accusations.
