Baltimore, USA - A Baltimore mother accused of participating in a cult and starving her young son because he wouldn't say "Amen" after meals is going on trial along with four others in the child's death.
Prosecutors say 22-year-old Ria Ramkissoon (RAM'-kis-soon) was part of a religious cult known to investigators as 1 Mind Ministries. Her mother and attorney have said she was brainwashed and acted only at the group leader's will.
One-year-old Javon Thompson's remains were found in a suitcase in Philadelphia last year. Prosecutors say the child died in December 2006.
The trial is set to begin Monday in Baltimore Circuit Court.
