ICU Forces Take Over the Security of Shibis District in Mogadishu

Moadishu, Somalia - Forces loyal to the Islamic Courts Union have taken over the control of Shibis district in the Somali capital Mogadishu, official told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Sheik Abdirahin Isse Adow, a spokesman of the Islamic Courts Union for the operations told Shabelle radio that they brought some of their forces to the station and parts of the Shibis district in Mogadishu to keep the security and he added that they brought their forces there as the people of the district called them to keep the security.

Sheik Abdirahin said that the people in Shibis district were complaining about insecurity and banditry actions as robbing the belongings of the people committed by some of the government soldiers in the district adding that the step is part of operations that ICU forces were keeping the security of many districts in Banadir region.

The step that ICU sent its forces to Shibis district comes as more people in many districts in Banadir region like Hodan, Wadajir and Dherkenley are complaining about the government soldiers who accustomed to rob the people and fire bullets.
