Kyrgyz authorities approve plan on prevention of religious extremism

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - A plan on the prevention of religious extremism and conflicts fostered by religious motives has been developed and approved in Kyrgyzstan.

"Kyrgyz Prime Minister Igor Chudinov signed a government resolution approving an interdepartmental plan on the prevention of religious extremism, the activity of the Hizb ut-Tahrir party and religious conflicts," the Kyrgyz governmental press service told Interfax on Monday.

The government plan is designed up to 2010.

The decision "was made in order to guarantee the coordination of activities of executive authorities and local administrations to prevent the spread of religious extremism, fundamentalism and the prevention of religious conflicts," the press service said.
