Cheboksary, Russia - Chuvashia's Supreme Court has banned the Biblical Center of the Chuvash Christian Evangelical Faith (of Pentecostals) and removed it from the Single State Register of Legal Entities.
The prosecutor's office of Novocherkassk and experts of the republic's public health and consumer rights oversight service have looked into how the Biblical center observes laws related to education, freedom of conscience and religious associations, the prosecutor's office reported on Tuesday.
"The Biblical Center has set up a Middle-Volga Biblical College and a Sunday school in Novocheboksarsk, which have not been registered as legal entities and have not secured licenses," the prosecutor's office said in a press release.
The Middle-Volga Biblical College has developed a program to train Evangelical pastors and priests, teachers of Sunday schools, choristers, sign language interpreters and youth leaders, the press release says.
Training was provided with violations of the sanitary-epidemiological and hygienic norms.
Fines were imposed on the Biblical Center and its head after charges of administrative offences were brought against them.
