"The Church of Scientology has no knowledge of this matter and the events that led to it. The accused has never been a member of the Church of Scientology and at no time have we had any contact concerning the accused, her illness or her treatment from her family.
The Church has not provided any advice or direction to her family on her treatment or care. The Church does not provide medical advice to its parishioners and directs all people to qualified medical doctors for appropriate assistance.
A psychiatric assessment was tendered to the court stating that the woman had been under the care of a private psychiatrist and psychologist since the beginning of the year and was on anti-psychotic medication at the time of the tragic incident - medications known to cause violence.
