Belgrade, Serbia - Serbia’s Minister of Religion said the Montenegrin Orthodox Church cannot build facilities in Serbia.
Commenting on the Montenegrin Association "Krstaš" from Lovćenac announcement that the first Montengrin Orthodox (CPC) church will be built in that town, Milan Radulović said religous structures cannot be built by citizens’ associations.
“There is only one orthodox church in Serbia, and that is the Serbian Orthodox Church. No group of citizens can under any circumstances establish any orthodox church, or establish what is already in existence and has a tradition and a historical continuity”, Radulović is quoted as saying.
Radulović then went on to say that the Mali Iđoš municipality’s permit to build was applicable for other purposes, “such as building a football field”, but not for building a church.
