Three held for propagating foreign religion

Shimoga, India - Three persons distributing books on Christianity were prevented from doing so at Mc Gann Hospital on Monday by Hindu Sene activists.

The accused were identified as Umesh, Daniel and Manju. According to Hindu Sene they were trying to convert people into Christianity. They were distributing books and pamphlets to patients in hospital premises for the last one month, complained Hindu Sene activists.

Medical officers in the hospital maintained that no one had taken permission from hospital administration to distribute books or pamphlets.

“We did not have any intention to convert anybody. We were just informing people about Christianity through books and we did not lured anyone for conversion,” said Umesh, one of the accused.

Police prevented the Sene activists from manhandling the accused. Doddapete police registered a case against the accused and arrested them.
