Colorado City, USA - Jurors will hear today the state's case against Kelly Fischer, 39, who faces two charges related to his "spiritual" marriage to a 16-year-old girl about six years ago. Fischer is a member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, based in Colorado City and the adjoining town of Hildale, Utah.
Nearly 100 prospective jurors - many of whom had to stand throughout the process - spent seven hours in a cramped courtroom before five women and four men were selected to hear the case. Many of those dismissed said they had heard too much about Colorado City to be impartial.
