Dhanbad, India - Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will vehemently oppose a bill on banning religious conversion in Jharkhand if it is tabled in the state assembly, Union Coal Minister and JMM supremo Shibu Soren said today.
The conversion of religion was personal and a sensitive matter and therefore the BJP-led NDA government in the state must not interfere with it, he told reporters here.
If the Arjun Munda government tried to bring such a bill in the assembly, his party was geared up to meet the challenge, Soren, also a former Chief Minister, said.
The Union Minister charged the BJP and RSS with trying to flare up communal tension in the state for political mileage by introducing such type of a legislation.
However, the JMM, he said, would not allow them to succeed.
