The Federal Government is advising Australians in China to
avoid large public gatherings or demonstrations, particularly of a political
nature.
The new travel advisory warns that Australians involved in Falun Gong activites
or demonstrations are contravening Chinese laws.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says anyone taking part in Falun Gong action
is likely to face legal action.
It says that action could include detention, deportation, arrest or
imprisonment.
