Three Gujarat sadhus charged with raping boy

New Delhi, India - The police have registered cases against three sadhus after a teenage boy accused them of raping him over a four-month period at a monastery in Gujarat, a report said Tuesday.

The victim told police he was repeatedly assaulted by the three suspects at the Khambha Gurukul monastery where he was studying in a school run by the powerful Swaminarain Hindu sect, UNI reported.

Police filed criminal charges against the sadhus after a medical examination of the student established sexual assault, police officials said.

The suspects are on the run, police said.
