Bible society poll shows U.S. teens favor public religious expressions

New York, USA - U.S. teenagers overwhelmingly support religious expressions in school and public life, according to an American Bible Society poll.

The report said:

_82 percent of the teens surveyed favored "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

_72 percent thought students should be allowed to pray in school.

_82 percent said the slogan "In God We Trust" belongs on national currency.

_83 percent thought it appropriate to sing "God Bless America" at athletic events.

The telephone poll of 1,000 teens was conducted in June by the Synovate market research firm. It had a reported margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
