Madurai, India - Describing 'triple talaq' as anti-Islamic and stressing that Koran also does not preach it, the Tamil Nadu WAKF board chairman Badar Sayeed said steps should be taken to codify Muslim laws.
The all India Islamic law board should hold a programme to create awareness about what the Supreme Court and the Koran had said about the triple talaq.
The Supreme Court had only said that Koran should be followed in the letter and spirit. But the Koran was being misinterpreted by a section of people and steps should be taken to tell the Muslims what exactly the Koran had said about it, Sayeed told newsmen.
She said steps should be taken to codify the Muslim laws regarding 'triple talaq' and eradicate doubts in the minds of the Muslims regarding issues affecting the women.
