Joao Pessoa, Brazil - A Mormon missionary serving in Brazil suffered a head wound during a robbery attempt, a spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said.
Elder Tyler Harding of Mesa, Ariz., was wounded last Saturday.
He was hospitalized in serious but stable condition, but was conscious and alert and was reported to be recovering well, spokesman Dale Bills said Tuesday night.
Harding was in the Joao Pessoa Mission and has been serving in Brazil for 21 months.
Bills said police have arrested a suspect.
