A Chinese man has failed in a District Court application for a warrant for the arrest of his country's deputy prime minister, who is on an official visit to Ireland.
Ming Zhao was imprisoned and tortured in China for his involvement in Falun Gong. He now has refugee status in Ireland.
He asked the court for a warrant for the arrest of Huang Ju, whose visit to Ireland ends tomorrow.
However, Judge Cormac Dunne refused the application, which would have seen Mr Ju charged with conspiring to commit torture.
