Bulgaria Remains 'Tolerant' to Religions

There was no change in the level of religious freedom in Bulgaria, reads the last report of the US State Department.

The Constitution provides for freedom of religion, however, the Government restricts this right in practice for some nontraditional religious groups, the International Religious Freedom Report of the US Department of State says.

It also reports that generally amicable relationship among religions in society contributed to religious freedom. However, discrimination, harassment, and general public intolerance of some nontraditional religious groups remained an intermittent problem, according to the US State Department.
