The district Kadhi, Shiekh Isa Ahmed Masaba, has asked Muslims to have a limit on their relations with non-Muslims.
"This is the only way we can maintain the purity of our faith. You should not even get married to people with different beliefs. This way you will avoid mix-ups," he said recently.
Masaba however hastened to add that his advice was not a catalyst for Muslims to cut off total cooperation with people from other religions.
"Islam teaches how to relate with other people as long as it is within the confines of our faith. We should cooperate with fellow Ugandans especially on issues that concern us as a nation," he said.
The Kadhi asking Muslims to cooperate with the rest of the country on national issues comes a few days after the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council directed them to hold simultaneous prayers with Christians for the Movement government recently.
