THE head of the Tabliq Muslim Community, Sheikh Sulaiman Kakeeto, has urged Muslim men to oppose the Domestic Relations Bill which seeks to abolish polygamy among other things.
In his Iddi El-fitr message delivered at the sect's headquarters in Nakasero, Kakeeto said the provisions of the Bill contradict Islamic teachings which allow a man to marry as many women as he can cater for.
"This is a matter with serious consequences to our faith and lives. So we should not just sit back and watch it become law," he said. Kakeeto said Allah's Islamic was superior to secular laws.
