Togadia urges death punishment for Jehadis

Continuing with his anti-Jehadi tirade, VHP firebrand leader Praveen Togadia on Tuesday demanded capital punishment for those who talk of Kafirs (heathens), Jehad (holy war against infidels) and Darul Islam (turning India into an Islamic centre).

He also described as "unfortunate" the latest peace initiative with Pakistan despite the terrorist strikes on Parliament, Red Fort, Akshardham and Raghunath temples.

"The concept of Jehad is against pluralism, humanity and validity of all other religions except Islam," Togadia said at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Kendriya Arya Yuvak Parishad.

Maintaining that no amount of modernisation and computerisation of Madrasas would wipe out fundamentalism, he said, "Neither humanity nor India will be safe unless radical Islam is corrected."

The VHP, Togadia asserted, was not in the job of making BJP win or Congress lose. "Whoever supports our aim of Hindu Rashtra would get our support," he said.

He asked Hindus to organise themselves in self-defence instead of depending on police or the Government.

Togadia also reiterated the VHP stand that it would not allow the Babri mosque to be rebuilt at Ayodhya.
