Religious scholars take out rally against US

The religious scholars under the aegis of Tehreek-e-Awam Ahl-e-Sunnat (TAASP) Pakistan marched on different main roads of city on Wednesday to protest against US aggression in Iraq.

The rally was terminated at Karachi Press Club where the TAASP leaders, including Haji Muhammad Hanif Blue, Allama Riazuddin Qadri and others addressed the protesters.

The speakers condemned the killing of innocent Muslims in Iraq and said that it would invite the wrath of Allah Almighty and result into the destruction of US.

WOMEN DEMO: Women workers of Majlis-e-Dars, Karachi, held a demonstration to express solidarity with the Iraqis and condemn the attack of the US and allied forces on Iraq on Wednesday.

Addressing the demonstrators, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Dars, Karachi, Sahibzada Asad Ahmad Mujaddidi, said that the rulers of some Muslim countries had caused embarrassment to the entire Ummah by providing land and other support to the US and allied forces against Iraq.

He urged the Muslim rulers to adopt a joint strategy to counter the US atrocities against the Muslim countries and save Iraq from the present brutal act of the allied forces.

The women workers of Majlis-e-Dars Karachi, including Amna Aqeel, Ayesha Begum, Sultana Akhlaq, Ruba Ahsan, Ruqayya Idrees, Huma Nasir and others also attended the demonstration.

Meanwhile, students of two Dar-ul-Uloom under the aegis of Jama'at-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan (JASP) held a demonstration at Press Club on Wednesday to protest against the US aggression in Iraq and express solidarity with the Iraqi people.

Addressing the demonstrators, the speakers expressed concern over alleged indifference of the Muslim rulers on the issue and urged them to take practical measures to rescue Iraq instead of extending any support to the US and allied forces. The protesters shouted slogans against the US and burnt the US national flag and effigy of President George W Bush.

Mufti Abdul Aleem Qadri, Maulana Qazi Ahmad Noornai, Dr Muhammad Khalid Siddiqui, Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qadri, Sahibzada Muhammad Zubair Siddiqui, Sahibzada Nazeer Ahmad, Asad Shah Noornai and Maulana Aslam Naeemi also spoke.

SUNNI TEHREEK: The Sunni Tehreek held a protest demonstration against the US aggression in Iraq in Liaquatabad Town on Wednesday.

Addressing the protesters, leader of Sunnni Tehreek, Muhammad Akram Qadri vehemently condemned the support being extended by some Muslim countries to the US and allied forces against Iraq. He said that the Ummah would have to face irreparable damages if the Muslim countries continued supporting the anti-Islamic forces, urging the Ummah to get united and take joint action to safeguard Iraq and teach lesson to the US for its "hooliganism".
