Amid reports of religious tensions between the Buddhist majority and Christian evangelists, teachers in Cambodia have called for the word God to be removed from school textbooks.
The Cambodian Independent Teachers' Association said that God was a Christian concept at odds with the Cambodian constitution, which enshrines Buddhism as the state religion.

The group compared Christian evangelists to Pol Pot, the genocidal leader who attempted to eradicate Cambodian culture and start from scratch in the 1970s
