Catholic bishops in Vietnam have resumed publication of an information
bulletin, suspended for more than a year, after the government gave it a permit
to publish on a limited scale.
Fr Antoine Nguyen Ngoc Son, secretary of the Vietnam Bishops' Conference and
chief editor of the bulletin, told reporters last week that the conference
Standing Committee had decided to relaunch Hiep Thong (Communion).
The new provisions say that the bulletin can be published every two months, its
size limited to 50 A4 pages and its circulation to 100 copies, because
"the government understands that the publication is intended only for
internal circulation, among the bishops and some clergy," a Church source
said.
