KARACHI, Pakistan - Gunmen killed two Shi'ite Muslims in an overnight attack in Pakistan's southern port of Karachi, police said on Saturday.
"I can only confirm two persons were killed as a result of an attack yesterday night," said city police chief Tariq Jamil.
Police said the gunmen rode a motor-bike and used automatic weapons in the attack which occurred outside a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in the central district of the city.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, the latest in a series of sectarian killings of rival Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims in Pakistan.
Hundreds of people have been killed in recent years in clashes between armed Sunni and Shi'ite militants. The two sects disagree over the interpretation of some Islamic beliefs.
